Our Africa tours

At TourCompass, we offer many different types of package tours to Africa, including safari holidays, climbing Kilimanjaro, nature experiences at Victoria Falls in Zambia, city breaks and, of course, beach holidays in Africa.

We organise tours to the following African countries:

  • Tanzania, including Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro
  • Kenya
  • South Africa
  • Uganda
  • Botswana
  • Zambia

Read more about the different types of tours below.

Safari in Africa

Go on safari holiday in Africa and experience the continent’s wildlife in its natural surroundings.

We offer more than 30 different safari trips to some of the most exciting safari countries in the world, including Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda and Botswana.

Look forward to exciting wildlife experiences such as the ‘Big Five’, ‘The Great Migration’ and all the classic animals such as giraffes, zebras, hippos and many more. And be impressed by the nature in the world-famous national parks and natural areas, such as the Serengeti, Kruger, Masai Mara, Okavango and Bwindi.

Climb Kilimanjaro

Take on the challenge of a lifetime and climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.

We offer five different routes to the top of Kilimanjaro: the Machame, Lemosho, Marangu, Rongai and the Shira routes.

No matter which you choose, qualified guides accompany you throughout the trek, making your climb both safe and memorable.

Nature experiences at Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls, located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, is one of the most spectacular natural experiences in the world, and is definitely a must-see for your bucket list of places to visit.

Take in the breathtaking sight of the huge sheet of water plummeting over the cliffs, and enjoy the many activities the area offers, such as rafting on the Zambezi River and helicopter rides over the falls.

Our tours to Zambia and Victoria Falls are combination tours that can be combined with, for example, African safaris.

Beach holidays in Africa

Africa offers some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, which are perfect for a relaxing beach holiday, for example in combination with an adventurous safari trip.

We have beach holidays on Zanzibar’s chalk-white sandy beaches in Tanzania, in Mauritius’s luxurious resorts in scenic surroundings and on beautiful Diani Beach in Kenya which, with its location close to Mombasa, also offers an opportunity to enjoy city life.

Each destination offers a unique mix of culture, spectacular scenery and exotic beach holidays.

(Almost) all our tours in Africa can be combined with a beach holiday.

City break

Explore the vibrant metropolis of Cape Town in South Africa, known for its impressive location at the foot of Table Mountain and its captivating history. Discover the city’s dynamic art scene, visit historic sites like Robben Island, and enjoy South African wine in the famous wine country.

We offer package tours with a city break in Cape Town as part of our safari holidays.

FAQs about our tours to Africa

It can feel like a big decision to travel to Africa – which is why we have listed the questions which are frequently asked by guests.

When is the best time to travel to Africa?

You can travel to Africa all year round.

When to travel depends on what you want to see and do, and whether you have any specific wishes for your safari, such as experiencing the Great Migration.

Many of our guests prefer to travel during the dry season – but you will have unique experiences all year round, and there are advantages and disadvantages to travelling in both the dry and rainy seasons.

The dry seasons are in about:

  • Tanzania: January and February, as well as June to October (but only June to October in southern Tanzania)
  • Kenya: January and February, and June to October
  • South Africa: March/April to October
  • Botswana: April to October
  • Zambia: April to mid-November
  • Uganda: December to February and June to August

Is it safe to travel to Africa?

It is safe to travel to Africa at our destinations.

We work with local partners who help to ensure that your trip is safe from start to finish. In addition, we travel to Africa ourselves several times a year to ensure that everything is functioning as it should.

In general, it is always a good idea to exercise caution when you are travelling – regardless of your destination.

Where is the best place to go on safari?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to where it is best to go on safari, as it depends on several things, such as your budget, when you want to travel, whether you are travelling with children, whether you have been on safari before and, not least, whether there is anything specific you want to see or do.

Tanzania, Kenya and South Africa are among our most popular safari destinations, and they all offer classic safaris in the most beautiful nature. Botswana is one of the best places to see elephants in Africa, but if you’re dreaming about meeting the rare mountain gorillas, you should go to Uganda.

Find inspiration on which is the best place for you to go on safari in our post about the best safari countries in Africa.

Do you offer group tours to Africa?

Our tours are individual package tours. This means that you travel alone, but your safari, city tour etc. takes place in smaller, international groups. There is no tour guide to tell you how to spend your free days in, for example, Cape Town, and you can choose whether you want to buy some special experiences.

We use local guides who have extensive knowledge and experience about their particular country in Africa. By using local guides, we ensure that what you are told is as authentic as possible, and at the fees stay in the local communities.

In addition, you can always get in touch with us – 24/7 – throughout your trip if anything unforeseen should arise which requires our help.

Any further questions about our tours to Africa?

We know that all sorts of questions can crop up when travelling to Africa – especially if you are going there for the first time. If you have any further questions about travelling to Africa, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We have many years of experience at guiding our guests to the right African adventure.
