Our tours to Argentina

You can read more below about some of the experiences that await you, all depending on the trip you choose.

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is Argentina’s capital and known as the Paris of South America, with its wide boulevards and beautiful architecture, which is hard not to fall in love with. The city was founded in the 16th century, making it one of Argentina’s oldest cities.

The Tango capital

Argentina – and Buenos Aires in particular – is known as the birthplace of tango. And there is ample opportunity to experience the seductive tango in Buenos Aires for beginners and experts alike. See tango being danced in the streets, visit one of the local tango joints, milognas, or experience one of the most magnificent tango shows.

But tango is not just a dance and a music genre – it’s a lifestyle! And a visit to Buenos Aires is not complete until you have experienced the sensual tango, both the dance and the ambience.

Charming neighbourhoods

Buenos Aires is full of interesting neighbourhoods, where, among other things, you will encounter the Spanish and Italian cultural heritage.

In La Boca, or the working-class neighbourhood, you can experience “Caminito”, a street museum filled with colourful houses that were typical of the Italian immigrants in the 1800–1900s.

San Telmo is Buenos Aires’ oldest neighbourhood, known as the artists’ quarter with cobbled streets, antique shops and, of course, the presence of many artists and musicians.

In one of Buenos Aires’ more affluent neighbourhoods, Recoleta, there are lots of museums and cultural attractions, and this is also where you will find the famous Recoleta cemetery where Eva Perón (Evita), among others, lies buried.

Other experiences in Buenos Aires

  • Argentina is a famous football nation that has produced some of the world’s greatest football stars. If you also have football fever, you can go to a football match between local rivals River Platé and Boca Juniors, a football game also known as “Superclásico”.
  • Buenos Aires is a good base for a visit to the Pampas, the vast Argentine lowlands. Visit an estancia, an Argentine farm, experience the local cowboys and taste the legendary Argentine beef at a fantastic barbecue.
  • See Buenos Aires from a bicycle saddle on one of our optional tours, which is one of the absolutely most enjoyable ways to experience the city. You get to see the city from a different perspective AND give your legs a bit of a workout.

The Iguazú Falls

The Iguazú Falls are situated on the border between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

Iguazú consists of 275 waterfalls, large and small, spread over almost 2.7 km and varying between 60 and 82 metres in height.

On our tour, you will experience the thundering volumes of water from both the Argentine and the Brazilian sides.

On the Argentine side, you come right up close to the largest of the waterfalls, Garganta del Diablo or the Devil’s Throat, via a network of walkways. The rainforest surrounding the waterfalls also offers wonderful flora and fauna.

On the Brazilian side, you get to see the falls from different angles and you have access to a viewing platform offering a spectacular view of Garganta del Diablo.

Mendoza – Argentina’s wine capital

Argentina has a wine tradition that goes back several centuries.

Mendoza is one of Argentina’s oldest cities, originally founded by the Spanish in the 1560s, but known today as Argentina’s wine capital. The area, which lies in the western part of Argentina, accounts for almost 70% of Argentina’s wine production and is perhaps especially well-known for its Malbec wine.

You visit vineyards in the wine regions Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu, where you learn more about the process behind the wine production.

Los Glaciares National Park

In the southern part of Argentina is the town of El Calafate, the capital of the Santa Cruz province. El Calafate is a great base for exploring the Los Glaciers National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and offers abundant flora.

The park has more than 350 glaciers, the most famous of which is the Perito Moreno Glacier, which is 60 metres high and 4 km wide. The bluish glacier can be seen from afar, and when the ice occasionally falls into the lake, it gives rise to a unique and powerful show.

Other highlights in Argentina

Argentina offers an abundance of fantastic experiences, and the following are also worth a mention:

  • Peninsula Valdés is an area offering plenty of wildlife, where you can experience elephant seals, seals and seabirds, etc. In some periods you can, as an optional extra, also go on a whale safari to see the killer whales. The Peninsula is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Salta is a charming town with well-preserved colonial buildings and cobbled streets. Visit the Humahuaca Gorge not far from Salta, a deep canyon passed through by the Rio Grande river, and see “the mountain of seven colours”, where minerals, sun and wind have given the mountain different colours.
  • A visit to Argentina is not complete until you have experienced Argentine cuisine. Argentina is famous for its legendary beef. Try Asado, or barbecue, which originates from the country’s cowboys and is the soul of Argentine cuisine. If you have a sweet tooth, dulche de leche, a caramel made from boiled condensed milk, is also a popular eat.

Combine Argentina and Chile

Three of our tours combine the best of Argentina with a tour to Chile. Chile offers stunning natural wonders and the scenically located capital, Santiago de Chile.

Depending on which of the three tours you choose, you can experience the following:

  • The capital of Chile, Santiago de Chile, is a beautiful city surrounded by the snow-capped Andes. Discover the city’s cultural heart, the Bellavista neighbourhood, Sanhattan, the modern neighbourhood named after Manhattan, and much more besides.
  • The Torres del Paine National Park is located at the southernmost tip of the Andes. Discover the snow-capped peaks, turquoise lakes, waterfalls and, of course, the famous “Torres del Paine” (the towers), which also lend their name to the park. Go for a walk in the park and enjoy its beautiful scenery and wildlife.
  • A catamaran ride across the lake Todos Los Santos, which has a beautiful deep green colour. See the snow-capped volcanoes, Orsono, Tronador and Puntiagudos and round off the ride at the beautiful Petrohué waterfalls.

Combine Argentina and Brazil

One of our tours combines Argentina with a tour to Brazil. Brazil is home to some of South America’s main attractions, including the Brazilian side of the Iguazú Falls.

In addition, Brazil is world famous for the city of Rio de Janeiro. Rio is Brazil’s largest city, synonymous with its magnificent carnival, fabulous beaches and world-class football.

In Rio, you will among other things, experience:

  • The Christ the Redeemer statue, which is 38 metres high, one of Rio’s main attractions and named one of the seven new wonders of the world.
  • Sugar Loaf Mountain, one of Rio de Janeiro’s other landmarks. You come to the mountain via a cable car, and 360-degree views of Rio await you at the top.
  • Colourful samba show, where you will see the fantastic costumes, which we also know from Rio’s world famous Carnival.

You will have a few days at your leisure to explore the city on your own or go on one of our optional tours.
