Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve

Kruger National Park

Dreaming of the ultimate luxury safari experience in South Africa? Upgrade to the Sabi Sabi. No expense has been spared here: this is South Africa at its very best!

Sabi Sabi is located in Sabi Sands Game Reserve, one of the best and most renowned safari regions in all of Kruger.

The game reserve is privately owned, and it is connected to the Kruger National Park. There is no fence between the game reserve and the national park, allowing the animals to travel freely and with no obstructions. Unlike the national park, however, the game reserve offers the opportunity to go bushwalking and drive off road. Furthermore, only guests staying at the private game reserve’s lodges are permitted to go on safari here.

You are guaranteed an exclusive and uniquely luxurious safari experience in Sabi Sabi.

If you choose to upgrade to Sabi Sabi, EVERYTHING will be included. All meals inclusive of drinks (except for champagne), a large minibar in your room, daily game drives, bushwalks, and laundry options. This means that your safari programme will look different from what the schedule describes, as all your days will be spent at the private game reserve with game drives and bushwalks. In return, you get South Africa’s very best safari area.

For that reason, we do not recommend buying any extra excursions if you upgrade to Sabi Sabi. The lodges are simply too wonderful to spend time anywhere else – and a bounty of activities is available here.

We are able to offer upgrades to 4 different lodges at Sabi Sabi. Each is more impressive and luxurious than the last.

The concept of the four lodges is “yesterday”, “today”, and “tomorrow”, offering you either a historical flair, a more modern design, or a practically futuristic experience.

Bush Lodge
Bush Lodge is the biggest lodge in the Sabi Sabi family.

This is the place for those who want a lively lodge, and alongside the Little Bush Camp, the lodge represents the modern edge of the group.

There are 25 rooms here, each of which is gorgeously decorated in a beautiful mix of African styles and modern, rustic interiors. All kinds of facilities are available here, such as a minibar, snacks, air conditioning, tea and coffee making amenities, etc. Each room also comes with its own veranda with a view of the bush.

This lodge is ideal for travellers with children. The rooms are big enough to house your whole family, and children are welcome to join our small, local “children’s club”, which also serves as a day care for the children of the employees at the 4 lodges.

The lodge has two pools, one of which is a designated children’s pool, so travellers without children can enjoy the peace and quiet of the adult pool.

Bush Lodge is one of two lodges that offers a spa.

Selati
Safari, as it once was.

Selati is those who dream of spending some time like Karen Blixen. This room offers green velour sofas, dark leather furniture, and crystal table lanterns. The walls are adorned with pictures and photographs from the age of the gold train, and everything is suffused with a sense of history and luxury.

The 7 suites are all decorated with a historical romantic style, with nostalgia practically seeping from the walls. Make no mistake, however, everything is modern and working perfectly, from the lantern-lit outdoor bathtub to the antique-looking luggage trunk that serves as a coffee table.

The camp is small and intimate, suited for those who love history, charm, and good old-fashioned luxury!

Little Bush Camp
Little Bush Camp has a style that is very reminiscent of Budge Lodge, albeit with much fewer rooms (just 6, compared to the 25 at Bush Lodge).

This makes it perfect for a couple’s retreat. The suites feature luxurious interiors with muted colours and a modern, very tasteful touch. All suites offer their own spa bath and sun loungers on the veranda. The lodge’s pool is on the other side of the river, and you can really feel that you are in the bush when lie here.

Naturally, the meals are a daily highlight here, and the table is often set out in nature – illuminated by a lantern and accompanied by the sounds of the African night.

Little Bush Camp is for those who dream of modern luxury in a small camp.

Earth Lodge
The best of the best, and in many ways like stepping into another world.

At Earth Lodge, you will encounter an eminent mix of sophisticated, futuristic minimalism combined with a practically overwhelming consideration for the nature that surrounds you. Earth Lodge is hard to describe. It may almost feel as though you’ve stepped into a Stone Age cave – albeit one packed with unbelievable luxury and some proper hospitality and accommodation.

Earth Lodge isn’t for everyone. But for those who have a flair for the extravagant, this is the perfect place. You won’t be disappointed!

Each of these 12 suites is exuberantly spacious, featuring a common room, a large outdoor terrace, and its own pool. The minibar is full and if you’re lucky, you might see elephants just outside your door!

Earth Lodge is one of two lodges that offers a spa.

The prices are exclusive of the “Sabie Game Reserve (SGR) Conservation Levy”, which is at R270 per person per night (2023). This levy is used to protect the reserve, e.g., for anti-poaching efforts.

Note that the pricing for upgrades does NOT apply to bookings over Christmas and the New Year. Contact us for pricing in this period.

No matter which lodge you choose to upgrade to, EVERYTHING will be included: all meals inclusive of drinks (except for champagne), a large minibar in your room, daily game drives, bushwalks, and laundry options.
