Thailand is a dream destination with experiences for all ages.
On a tour to Thailand, you get to explore cities, temples, national parks and, not least, beaches, which together, and each in its own right, will steal your heart.
Thailand has it all!
Experiences you can enjoy here include fascinating mountain tribes, cities full of contrasts, unique national parks, delicious cuisine and endless white sandy beaches.
Thailand is an exciting country and one of Asia’s top destinations, and whether you are into big cities, nature or beach holidays, Thailand can provide you with a tour for life.
On a holiday to Thailand, you can look forward to experiencing a wide range of Thailand’s greatest sights, such as the lively capital Bangkok, the charming city of Chiang Mai in the north, Mae Hong Son’s fascinating culture and nature as well as exceptional beaches in the south.
Read more about what you can experience on our tours below.
Bangkok is Thailand’s capital and largest city – a city that takes most people’s breath away.
Here, you will experience illuminated shopping centres and architect-designed skyscrapers, located side by side with small shops and shiny temples; the aromas from the many street kitchens mixing with the fumes from the dense traffic, which is slowly being overtaken by the many boats on the canals; and the orange-clad monks zigzagging between busy business people, schoolchildren and tourists in the city streets.
In Bangkok, you will find plenty of contrasts between old and traditional, and new and contemporary in one beautiful union.
Discover sights such as:
Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second largest city where, despite its size, you will find a peaceful and extremely charming city with an interesting cultural background.
From 1296 to 1768, Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, which extended to the present-day Laos. The legacy of the Lanna Kingdom still remains, in the local cuisine, for example.
In and around Chiang Mai, you can:
Mae Hong Son is a charming and remote province in Northwestern Thailand close to the border with Myanmar. Mae Hong Son, the provincial capital of the same name, is famous for its laid-back atmosphere and traditional Thai culture. Here you can explore beautiful temples such as Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, which offers stunning views (and sunrise!) of the city and the surrounding landscape.
Mae Hong Son is also a gateway to adventure on the Mae Hong Son loop (a route of just over 600 km that starts in Chiang Mai). The loop offers lots of nature experiences with beautiful vantage points, traditional villages and visits to ethnic minorities.
The southern part of Thailand provides ample opportunities for combining your tour with a beach holiday on one of Thailand’s beautiful beaches or island hopping between some of Thailand’s fantastic islands.
Head to Central Thailand and discover the beautiful islands such as Koh Chang, Koh Kood and Koh Samet.
Be impressed by Koh Kood, which, with its quiet beaches and untouched nature with rainforest and beautiful waterfalls, focuses on natural and tranquil experiences.
Go on a beach holiday and island hopping in the southeastern part of Thailand, and experience some of Thailand’s most popular beach holiday islands, e.g. Koh Samui or Koh Phangan.
Here there is everything that you can dream of for a beach holiday destination: long, beautiful sandy beaches, turquoise waters and coconut palm trees. You can laze at the edge of the water, snorkel among brightly coloured fish and hike in the lush jungle, which offers both waterfalls and breathtaking vantage points!
On the western side of Thailand, at the Andaman Sea, you will find many unique islands and beaches.
Here you will find Phuket, Thailand’s largest island, which impresses with its golden sand and shady palm trees. Enjoy days at the beach or go on excursions, for example to the Phang Nga Bay, characterised by its impressive limestone cliffs jutting out vertically from the emerald waters.
In addition to Phuket, we also offer islands such as Koh Ngai and Koh Yao Yai, as well as beach areas like Khao Lak and Krabi, in this area of Thailand.
Thailand offers a whole host of experiences, in addition to those mentioned above.
In Thailand, you can, for example, experience the following:
All our tours to Thailand are package tours.
This means that flights (outbound and homebound and any domestic flights), transfers, overnight accommodation at hotels and resorts and scheduled activities are included in the total price.
You typically have to pay for things like beverages and meals (other than those specified), tipping, insurance and any vaccinations.
We offer several different combination tours where Thailand is just one of the countries you can visit.
Below, you can see which other countries you can combine with Thailand.
On a tour to Vietnam, you can experience some of the country’s greatest highlights.
In the capital, Hanoi, you can immerse yourself in Vietnam’s fascinating cultural and historical heritage with visits to temples, stroll through streets lined with colonial architecture, or explore one of the city’s many delightful food markets.
A mini-cruise on Ha Long Bay offers one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural experiences. You can look forward to waking up to the beautiful sunrise behind Ha Long Bay’s impressive limestone cliffs.
A tour to Cambodia wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the country’s most renowned attraction, the extraordinary Angkor site.
The complex is on the UNESCO world heritage list and is one of the world’s greatest architectural marvels. The ancient city is home to many exquisite temples, of which the most famous is Angkor Wat, a masterpiece of Khmer architecture that has become synonymous with Cambodia.
The complex itself is located in Siem Reap, a charming city that also offers cultural experiences. Take a stroll through its quaint streets or visit the vibrant night market, where you can taste the flavours of Cambodian cuisine.
A tour to Laos allows you to experience the UNESCO town of Luang Prabang in northern Laos.
The town lacks many modern buildings – instead, you’ll find French colonial villas and active temples side by side in its historic streets.
Luang Prabang offers beautiful natural attractions, for example, Mount Phousi and the Kuang Si Falls. However, the town is perhaps best known for the traditional alms-giving ritual. Each morning, over 300 monks quietly walk through the streets to receive alms. Witnessing this is a unique and meditative experience for many travellers.
When you are planning a tour to Thailand, many questions may arise.
Below we have answered a number of the most frequently asked questions.
Thailand is located in the middle of Southeast Asia. The country is bordered by Myanmar to the north-west, Laos to the north-east, Cambodia to the south-east and Malaysia to the south-west.
It typically takes 10-11 hours to fly from Denmark to Thailand. The actual time depends on your itinerary, including whether you have stopovers en route and how long any such stopovers last.
You can visit Thailand all year round, and there is no bad time as such to go to Thailand.
The weather in Thailand is characterised by a tropical climate, which means relatively high temperatures throughout the year, but also clearly defined rainy and dry seasons that fall at different times in the various parts of the country. The best time therefore depends both on where you want to go and what you dream of experiencing on your tour.
Many travellers prefer to visit Thailand during the dry season, which is between November and February in most of the country. The dry season is characterised by pleasant (not too hot) temperatures and minimal rainfall.
In Southern Thailand, the seasons are a little different. On the west coast (Khao Sok, Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak, Koh Yao Yai), the dry season is from December to March, and on the east coast (Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao), it is from January to September.
As a Danish citizen, you typically do not need a visa for Thailand.
We recommend that you check our practical info or the Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s website.
Yes – you will probably need to be vaccinated before travelling to Thailand.
Which vaccinations you will need will depend on several things, for example which vaccinations you have previously received. We therefore recommend that you contact a specialist, your own doctor or an authorised vaccination clinic for advice on which vaccinations you need before your tour.
However, you should be aware of the rules regarding yellow fever, especially if you are travelling to Thailand via another country where there is yellow fever. In fact, some countries require proof of yellow fever vaccination upon entry.
Yes! You do not need to be concerned about travelling to Thailand with kids. Thailand is a fantastic destination for families, and there are great experiences in store for small travellers.
The Thais love children, the beaches on the countless islands and along the coast are child-friendly, the nature is wonderful, and the children can get acquainted with a different, colourful culture.
The long flight is typically the aspect that can discourage parents if they are to bring (small) children with them on the tour. We have therefore put together 7 tips for surviving a long flight with children, which can hopefully make your tour a little more manageable.
Your packing list may change depending on the weather, the content of the tour and your co-travellers. For example, you should bring rainwear when travelling during the rainy season, and your packing list should also be adjusted when you are travelling with a baby or children.
We have made a recommended packing list for Thailand for travellers who need to pack for themselves, for travellers who are travelling with children and for travellers who are travelling with a baby.
If you remember to pack all the essentials, personal items like your passport and wallet, you will be well on your way. If you forget something at home, there is hardly anything you cannot get in the Thai stores.
Thai food is known and loved all over the world.
The Thais generally eat many rice and noodle dishes, and among the most popular are Pad Thai, fried rice and Panang curry.
You can try these dishes in traditional restaurants or classic Thai food markets. There will be plenty of opportunities to taste your way through Thailand’s culture on your tour.
Both yes and no.
In some stores, you will be able to haggle over the price, but this is not the case everywhere. For example, prices in large stores and shopping centres will be fixed. You will be able to judge for yourself in the store whether price haggling is acceptable. In markets where, for example, many stalls sell the same goods, it will make good sense to haggle over the price, and you can advantageously follow our tips for price haggling in Asia.
Elsewhere in Thailand, for example at food markets, you will find that the prices are already so low that price haggling does not make sense.
Tipping is welcome in Thailand, but it is up to you whether you want to tip and how much you want to give.
We have prepared an indicative overview of tipping in Thailand. Prices are in the Thai currency baht (THB). You can find the current exchange rate for Thai baht here.
