Hotel Raices Machupicchu

On the final night of your Salkantay trek, you’ll stay at Hotel Raíces Machupicchu, conveniently located in the centre of Aguas Calientes near the town’s main street, where you’ll find a wide selection of restaurants and cafés. If your body needs a good rest after the trek, the town’s thermal baths are also just a short distance from the hotel.

The rooms are simply decorated and come with radiators, a TV, Wi-Fi, and a private bathroom where you can enjoy a well-deserved long, hot shower after two days of hiking in the Andes.

Aguas Calientes lies at the foot of Machu Picchu, and it takes around 30 minutes to reach the top by bus the next morning. Although you’ll have an early departure for Machu Picchu, there’s still time to enjoy a hearty buffet breakfast with a selection of bread, fruit, yoghurt, and muesli.
