Your safari will take place either early in the morning or later in the afternoon, as the midday heat sends the animals seeking shade amidst Yala’s diverse landscape, which includes forests, scrub, wetlands, and open plains. The national park is home to an astonishing array of wildlife, from elephants, buffalo, deer, and monkeys to crocodiles, wild boar, and more than 200 species of birds.
However, Yala is especially renowned for boasting one of the world’s highest leopard concentrations.
