On the southern bank of the Nile, within Murchison Falls National Park, you’ll find the family-friendly Murchison River Lodge.
The lodge consists of both thatched cottages and large tents with canvas walls. All rooms are rustically yet comfortably furnished with en-suite bathrooms, a safety box, mosquito nets over the beds, solar-powered lights, and USB chargers. The entire lodge operates on solar energy, so it’s important to note that items such as hairdryers are not permitted.
From both the pool and the restaurant, you can enjoy stunning views of the Nile, complete with papyrus islands and groups of hippos. There is Wi-Fi available around the pool area. The family that owns the lodge has deliberately chosen not to have Wi-Fi in the restaurant, as they believe guests should enjoy the view and engage in conversation instead.
The bar offers excellent drinks, and there’s ample space outside for children to play, making it an ideal spot whether you’re with children or not.
