Sunset and cooking class in the vegetable village of Tra Que

In the vegetable village of Tra Que, just a 15-minute drive from Hoi An’s ancient town, you’ll step into a peaceful, green oasis shaped by more than 300 years of farming traditions.

Wander through fragrant herb gardens wearing the traditional conical hat, nón lá, as local farmers show you how vegetables are grown using age-old, sustainable methods. You’ll even have the chance to take part in their daily work, such as watering or harvesting, before relaxing with some local snacks and a refreshing drink as the sun begins to set.

Afterwards, you can enjoy a soothing herbal foot bath and a relaxing foot massage.

The evening rounds off with a cooking class where you’ll learn to make the famous Vietnamese pancakes, “banh xeo”, using fresh ingredients from the garden along with rice flour, prawns, and meat. You’ll be given an apron and chef’s hat before the pans are heated up, and afterwards you can sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you’ve prepared yourself.

After a cosy and atmospheric evening, you’ll be driven back to your hotel.

All in all, it’s a heartfelt experience that brings you closer to the nature, people, and flavours of Hoi An.
