Cairns Colonial Club Resort

Cairns Colonial Club is, as the name suggests, more of a resort than a hotel. The atmosphere oozes tropical, north Queensland, where you are, and it’s a lovely place to spend a few lazy days by the pool if that’s what you feel like doing. The plot on which the resort is located covers an area of 4.5 hectares, and the resort is spread over the entire area.

There are 345 rooms of various categories, no fewer than three pools, a huge tropical garden, a very popular bar and restaurant, a playground for the kids – and lots of quiet corners for the adults.

All rooms offer air conditioning, a mini fridge, a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing board and iron and a hair dryer. There is also a laundry at the resort if you need to wash some of the clothes in your suitcase.

At the heart of Cairns is a lovely esplanade that offers a wide selection of shops, cafés and restaurants. If you would like to get some exercise, you could walk there in 30-60 minutes, or you can take a quick taxi ride from the resort (approx. AUD 20 each way).
