In search of Tofinos bears

This boat trip offers you a truly unique chance to get up close to the nature and wildlife in one of Canada’s most spectacular and protected natural areas.

Your adventure begins at the Marine Centre, as you head out onto the fjords of the beautiful Clayoquot Sound region, renowned for its untouched landscapes and abundant wildlife. In winter, black bears go into a sort of hibernation, but from May onwards, they emerge from their dens and make their way to the shore in search of food. From the boat, you’ll be able to observe and photograph their behaviour at your leisure as they forage in the tidal zone.

The trip takes place aboard an open 7.5-metre-long Zodiac boat, which is perfect for the area’s calm waters. To ensure a truly personal and immersive experience, there are a maximum of 12 guests per boat, and all vessels are operated by experienced staff who guarantee a safe and enjoyable journey.
