Whale watching from Victoria (half-day tour)
Join a whale watching tour from Victoria, where passionate marine biologists will guide you out to discover the abundant wildlife in the surrounding waters. The waters of Juan de Fuca and Haro are home to orcas, humpback whales and, quite often, minke whales and grey whales. During the peak season from April to October, there’s more than a 95% chance of seeing whales.
Besides whales, you may also spot Dall’s porpoises, harbour porpoises, Steller sea lions, California sea lions, harbour seals, elephant seals, otters, as well as a wide variety of birds, including bald eagles and cormorants.
The tour takes place in an open and stable zodiac boat that accommodates up to 12 passengers. On some departures, it’s possible to request a covered boat with toilet facilities and an upper viewing deck when you book your tour.
