Tamarindo’s mangrove forest by kayak

Discover the fascinating wildlife and lush scenery that Costa Rica is famous for on a kayaking adventure through Tamarindo’s mangroves in Las Baulas National Park. Paddle through one of the area’s most captivating ecosystems and get up close to nature.

Your kayak awaits at the river’s mouth, where you’ll receive thorough introductions and a safety briefing before setting off. From here, you’ll paddle along the riverbanks and through narrow mangrove channels. Along the way, keep an eye out for a wealth of birdlife, as well as iguanas, crocodiles, monkeys, and much more.

After about an hour on the water, you’ll go ashore and continue on foot through the forest with your guide, who will share fascinating insights about the area’s distinctive flora and fauna – including the impressive Guanacaste tree, Costa Rica’s national tree.
