Santa Clara and Che Guevara

Come with us to Santa Clara and gain an exciting insight into Cuban history.
Wherever you are in Cuba, you will find reminders of the revolution in the form of large signs with slogans as well as pictures of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara. Che Guevara played an important role in the revolution, and Santa Clara was the very place that he and his troops won a decisive battle over Batista’s troops.

The tour leaves from Trinidad and goes to Santa Clara, a drive of around 3 hours.

In Santa Clara, you will be welcomed by your guide, who will take you on an exciting tour of the city.

The first stop is Revolution Square, where a bronze statue of Che Guevara stands with the famous line, “Hasta la victoria siempre”. Behind the statue is his mausoleum and an exciting museum about his life.

You also visit Santa Clara’s central park, “Leoncio Vidal Park”, and the Train Museum, which tells the story of how Che Guevara and his men derailed a highly-guarded train filled with ammunition in 1958. It was an important victory, not only in the flight to capture Santa Clara, but in the crucial battle to overthrow Batista’s rule.

After the tour, you will be driven to your next accommodation.

The tour includes lunch.
