Just a stone’s throw from the Sala Gate to the vast Tsavo East National Park is the delightful safari camp, Kudu Camp.
All 18 tents offer a splendid view of the Galana River, Kenya’s second-largest river. Each tent has its own balcony, providing you with the best possible view of the river. In fact, even from the pool, you can gaze upon its sparkling water.
You might even be lucky enough to spot elephants, giraffes, and possibly even big cats as they come down to the river for a drink.
The tents are constructed on cement platforms, slightly elevated from the ground, with canvas walls and roofs. The canvas roofs are protected by a distinctive African thatched roof, providing shade from both the sun and rain.
You’ll have your own bathroom, a desk, an armchair, a mini-refrigerator, facilities for making tea, Wi-Fi, and mosquito nets over the beds.
Where meals are enjoyed depends on the weather. On a clear, still evening, it hardly gets better than dining under the open sky by the pool, accompanied by the sounds of the African night. If the weather isn’t suitable for outdoor dining, meals are enjoyed in the restaurant, where breakfast is typically also served.
