Situated on the banks of the mighty Kinabatangan River, the Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge is perfectly nestled amidst the enchanting beauty of its riverside surroundings.
Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge blends seamlessly into the landscape, asserting itself subtly in the scenery. However, you’ll soon discover it serves as the ideal base, offering you tranquillity to immerse yourself in the rainforest’s remarkable wildlife.
Your stay in one of the lodge’s 39 bungalows, equipped with a ceiling fan or air conditioning, provides access to a private bathroom with a hot shower and eco-friendly toiletries. From the adjoining wooden veranda, you can enjoy the silence and let yourself be captivated by the embracing greenery as you watch hornbills, which frequently nest on the lodge’s grounds.
At the riverbank, you’ll find the lodge’s large viewing platform, offering clear views over the open expanses along the Kinabatangan River, making it the perfect spot to observe the rainforest’s wildlife and birdlife. On the lodge’s spacious wooden deck, a delightful pool area awaits, offering plenty of room for a refreshing dip.
Breakfast is served on the viewing platform, granting a front-row seat to the river, while the rest of the day’s meals are enjoyed in the lodge’s restaurant, aptly named Orang Utan Corner. Here, you can savour lunch, coffee, and tea during the day, as well as local dishes in the evening, all within a lovely informal atmosphere perfect for engaging conversations.
