Full-day excursion to Celestun National Park

Celestun is a natural paradise located approximately an hour and a half’s drive from Mérida. On this full-day excursion, you’ll get right up close to some of Mexico’s fantastic flora and fauna, so you can start looking forward to that.

On your arrival in Celestun, you’ll be going on an adventure-packed boat trip in the national park, which is known for its mangrove trees and impressive birds. For much of the year, you can experience flocks of fascinating, pink flamingos, which, like a lot of other exotic birds, call this their home. There is generally an abundance of wildlife in Celestun, so keep your eyes peeled – you might even be lucky enough to spot a crocodile along the way. The boat trip takes around an hour and a half, during which the guide will share his knowledge of the area with you.

After the boat trip, you’ll head to the beach, where your lunch (included) is enjoyed at a cosy restaurant. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to go for a swim in the Gulf of Mexico, so remember to bring swimwear and a towel. At around 4 pm, it’s time to return to Mérida, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel after a day of exciting experiences.
