Bella Vista Motel Franz Josef Glacier
Bella Vista Motel Franz Josef Glacier enjoys a peaceful setting in the heart of the small Franz Josef township, just a few minutes’ walk from local restaurants, shops, and all of the experiences the area has to offer. Surrounded by lush rainforest and the famous Franz Josef Glacier, the motel provides an excellent base from which to explore the dramatic landscapes of the South Island’s wild west coast.
The motel features 18 rooms across several categories. The rooms included in our tours all come with a private bathroom and a small kitchenette, equipped with crockery, cutlery, a microwave, an electric frying pan, a fridge, a kettle, and a toaster—everything you’ll need to prepare light meals and snacks. Additional facilities include a TV, Wi-Fi, an electric heater, and heated blankets for those chillier nights. Complimentary parking is available to all guests.
Laundry facilities—washing machine and dryer—are also available for a small fee, making it easy to keep your clothes fresh while on your tour.
The reception team are always happy to provide helpful advice on excursions and activities in the local area.
All motels in the Bella Vista chain are Qualmark-certified—New Zealand’s official tourism quality mark—with a four-star rating. This means each motel is independently assessed and meets high standards for quality, safety, and guest experience. In addition, the chain has received the Qualmark Enviro Award in recognition of its commitment to sustainable practices such as waste sorting, energy-efficient operations, and social responsibility.
