Boat trip on Milford Sound (self-drive)

Experience Milford Sound at its most authentic on a mini-cruise through the fjord with Cruise Milford. Here, a truly extraordinary natural experience awaits you!

Cruise Milford is all about quality over quantity. While their boats can accommodate up to 150 passengers, they limit the number to just 75 to ensure a more personal and enjoyable adventure. This means your cruise will never feel crowded, and the passionate nature guides can share their insights with you on a much more individual level.

You’ll discover hidden gems and iconic highlights such as Hanging Gardens, Fairy Falls, and the majestic Stirling Falls – where you can even find out what a ‘Glacial Facial’ is (should you feel up for it and don’t mind getting a little wet).

You might be lucky enough to get up close to the region’s fascinating wildlife, including New Zealand fur seals, dolphins, and perhaps even penguins.

Complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits are available on board, though no other food or drinks are sold. Feel free to bring your own refreshments if you wish.

Perhaps the best thing about cruising Milford Sound is that it’s breathtaking whatever the weather! On a sunny day, it’s beautiful – and on a rainy day, it’s truly spectacular, especially as the fjord bursts to life with some of the country’s tallest waterfalls.
