City tour of Christchurch

Enjoy the perfect introduction to “The Garden City” with a three-hour city tour accompanied by a local guide.
Your journey begins in the heart of Christchurch, offering a fascinating insight into the city’s remarkable transformation following the 2011 earthquake. Your guide will enthusiastically share stories and knowledge, showing you how Christchurch has been thoughtfully rebuilt, blending historical charm with modern vibrancy.

The tour moves on past the famous Botanic Gardens and continues to Mona Vale – an idyllic park boasting colourful flowerbeds, majestic trees, and a charming colonial-era manor house.

You will then leave the city centre, ascending into the Port Hills to the Sign of the Takahe, an atmospheric historic building with sweeping views across Christchurch and the surrounding plains. On a clear day, you might even spot the impressive Southern Alps (Kā Tiritiri o te Moana) in the distance.

The scenic route winds along mountain roads past the Sign of the Kiwi and Governors Bay, before descending to the captivating harbour town of Lyttelton (Ōhinehou), brimming with maritime character. Passing through the Lyttelton Tunnel, the tour continues to the charming suburb of Sumner, where the beach and the dramatic rock formation, Cave Rock, provide a fitting finale to your excursion. From here, you will return to Christchurch.
