Wine tasting and gourmet lunch
Experience the very best of Central Otago’s wine country on this half-day excursion, featuring tastings at four exclusive boutique wineries and a delicious lunch set amidst stunning scenery.
Setting off from Queenstown, you’ll venture into three of the region’s most renowned wine areas: Gibbston, Cromwell, and Bannockburn. Today, you’ll visit four carefully selected wineries, where you can sample award-winning wines from Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling. The selection of wineries varies from day to day but may include the likes of Mt Rosa, Rockburn, Misha’s Vineyard, Te Kano, Akarua, and Brennans.
A gourmet lunch will be served at one of the wineries’ own restaurants, featuring a platter of delicious local produce accompanied by a selection of the estate’s own wines.
After lunch, there’s time to wander through the vineyards, snap photos of the picturesque Bannockburn Inlet and Lake Dunstan, or gain an insight into winemaking by visiting the barrel hall and production facilities.
The tour also includes a stop in the historic Old Cromwell Town, where you can soak up the area’s pioneering heritage and charming atmosphere.
Throughout the day, your guide will share their extensive knowledge of local history and the region’s winemaking traditions.
Start and finish point: Selected hotels in Queenstown (the address and time will be specified on your voucher). Please note that transport to and from the starting point is not included.
Duration: Approx. 5½ hours (around 11.00 am – 4.30 pm).
Group size: Maximum 12 people.

Note: This tour departs daily except on December 25-26, Easter, and Anzac Day (April 25). A minimum of two participants is required for the tour to run. If this minimum is not met, you will, of course, receive a full refund. Children aged 6–17 are welcome on the tour, though please be aware that certain wineries do not allow under-18s in the winemaking areas.
