Do you love Thai food and want to experience Bangkok as the city truly comes alive after dark? Then this evening tour is just for you.
In the afternoon, make your way to MRT Hua Lamphong Station, where your local guide will be waiting to greet you. From here, you’ll set off on foot through Bangkok’s oldest neighbourhoods, where narrow alleyways, historic trading streets, and tiny street kitchens set the scene for an evening full of flavours, aromas, and local life.
Your first taste of the evening is a bowl of ‘tom yum wonton’, the classic Thai soup served with filled dumplings, offering a perfectly balanced blend of spicy, tangy, and aromatic flavours. Next, follow the scent of the grill to your next stop, where satay skewers of grilled pork are cooked over charcoal and served with a rich, creamy peanut sauce.
Continue on foot through one of Bangkok’s most atmospheric old trading streets, where historic shop houses, street art, and a new wave of creative energy come together. Along the way, you’ll sample traditional steamed buns – a classic snack with roots in the area’s Chinese heritage and a symbol of luck and prosperity.
Next, you’ll hop back into your tuk-tuk and whizz through Chinatown, where neon lights and bustling streets create a truly unique atmosphere. A short stop is made at the 27-metre-tall Giant Swing, a historic and cultural landmark by the Wat Suthat Thepwararam temple, beautifully illuminated at night and perfect for photos.
Dinner is served at a local restaurant that has been cooking up Pad See Ew for more than 40 years. This popular noodle dish is a great example of how Chinese culinary traditions have influenced Thai street food.
The evening concludes with a scenic drive past the Grand Palace and City Pillar before you arrive at the riverbank opposite Wat Arun. The temple stands beautifully lit on the far side of the Chao Phraya River, creating a magical backdrop.
Afterwards, you can choose to be dropped off at the nearest metro station for an easy ride back to your hotel, or at a nearby rooftop bar by the river, where you can enjoy a cold drink with a stunning view of Wat Arun.
