South Seas Resort sits right on the white sandy beach of Captiva Island on Florida’s west coast, where life moves at a wonderfully slow pace and the Gulf of Mexico is your closest neighbour. Wake up to the sound of rustling palm trees and gentle waves. While the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, there’s still plenty to keep you active should you wish to get involved.
The resort covers a vast area of 1.3 km² and is divided into several neighbourhoods with access to over 4 km of sandy beach. In other words, there’s plenty of space when it comes to finding your perfect spot on the sand. In practice, the easiest way to get around is by bike, golf cart, or the resort shuttle.
Keep in mind that Captiva Island is a small island, making it ideal to stay at a resort where everything you need is on hand – especially if you haven’t brought your own supplies. Here you’ll find restaurants, pool bars serving snacks and drinks, ice cream food trucks, and even a mini market if you’d like to cook your own meals in your villa’s kitchen.
The resort offers villas in various sizes, suitable for both small and large families. Each villa is decorated in bright, inviting tones and comes fully equipped with a kitchen complete with a cooker/oven, fridge, microwave, and kitchenware. They also feature a dining area, living room (often with a sofa bed), separate bedrooms (depending on the size of the villa), air conditioning, a TV, and Wi-Fi. Enjoy the evening breeze from your private balcony or terrace – many of which are screened lanais for added comfort.
A resort fee must be paid directly at the hotel (approx. 40 USD + tax per person per day). This covers a wide range of on-site facilities such as Wi-Fi, parking, and the resort trolley. Children aged 12 and under are exempt from the resort fee.
Please note that the hotel is cash-free.
