Join a boat trip to Cayo Costa – one of the most unspoilt islands on Florida’s west coast, accessible only by boat. The journey begins on Captiva Island, where you’ll board and sail through calm waters as the captain shares stories about the area’s nature and wildlife along the way. If you’re lucky, you might even spot one of the many dolphins that live here.
After a short sail, you’ll arrive at Cayo Costa State Park, where you’ll have plenty of time to explore the island at your own pace. Expect wide sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and some of the best shelling opportunities in Florida. You can swim, take long walks along the shoreline, or simply find a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the tranquillity – there are no hotels or restaurants here, only nature.
We recommend that you book the excursion when booking the tour.
The tour includes: Return boat trip from Captiva Island, time at Cayo Costa beach, and boat facilities including toilets
Not included: Entrance to the State Park (approx. $2 per person), food and drinks (can be bought on board or brought along), equipment such as chairs, umbrellas, and similar items (bring your own)
Duration: approx. 3 hours including sailing and time spent on Cayo Costa
Remember to bring: $2 per person for the State Park entrance fee (payable on site). It is recommended to bring swimwear, a towel, sun protection, and perhaps some snacks and drinks, as the island has no facilities at all
Worth noting: When the boat docks, it does so directly by the water’s edge, so be prepared to step off into shallow water
