Evening walk through Ho Chi Minh's street food scene

Embark on a culinary adventure in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, where, together with your local guide, you’ll explore the city’s finest street food spots – precisely where the locals choose to eat themselves.

You’ll make your own way to the meeting point at 55A Cao Thang, District 3, where you’ll be greeted by your guide. Cao Thang Street is especially famous for its vibrant array of street food.

From here, you’ll stroll at a leisurely pace through the street, experiencing how pop-up eateries appear as dusk falls. Along the way, pause to taste Vietnamese rice paper pizza, banh trang nuong, as well as the iconic crispy banh mi sandwich, a delicious fusion of French and Vietnamese flavours.

The walk continues through the bustling and atmospheric Ban Co Market and on to Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, where Madam Nga awaits with warm rice pancakes (banh xeo) and freshly made spring rolls.

Your culinary journey finishes with a bowl of hu tieu – a noodle dish served either as a soup or dry – and the ever-popular street food dish bot chien. This treat features small cubes of fried rice flour – crispy on the outside and soft in the centre – fried together with egg and spring onion, accompanied by a sweet-sour soy-based sauce and freshly grated papaya. It’s a simple yet incredibly tasty dish, enjoyed by many locals as a late-night snack.

To round off the evening, settle yourself at a local café, where you can relax with a drink and some good conversation as the city truly comes alive in the night-time.
