The luxury resort is located on the south-western coast of the island – just over an hour’s drive from the international airport, yet a whole world away! Situated in the midst of a large tropical garden and overlooking the coconut palms swaying in the breeze on the kilometre-long white sandy beach, the hotel offers 66 exclusive, private villas.

And these really are villas in the best sense of the word, with a living room, bedroom, bathroom and a large terrace with a private pool. Tastefully appointed with a blend of muted colours and dark mahogany furniture in classic Zanzibar style. With plenty of space around you, you can almost feel yourself winding down the moment you step through the door. You have everything you need here: A TV, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe, outdoor and indoor shower, bath tub, tea and coffee making facilities, etc. When you open the doors to your private terrace, you have sun loungers and your own pool. A couple of bicycles await you just outside the door should you get the urge to explore the local area.

We predict, however, that you will spend most of your time at the resort – it has everything the heart desires! It has two restaurants and two bars, both of which also serve light meals and snacks. For an additional fee, you can also choose to have the food served in your own villa.

The infinity pool is huge, with a glass “wall” overlooking the sea. The 150-metre long jetty entices with cocktails and the island’s best sunset after a day of tennis, spa, kayaking, sunbathing, volleyball, naps in the shade, “reef walking”, plenty of ice creams by the pool – and perhaps a visit to the local dolphin colony.

Children have room to be children here, and they have their own “Kid’s Club”, where everything from baking and hair braiding to “how-to-help-homeless-animals” courses are arranged. As all villas have their own pool – and are scattered throughout the large tropical garden – it is a wonderful, relaxing place for families with children and honeymooners alike.
