Vietnam is exotic, vibrant, historical, and modern all at once. It’s a country of great beauty, and there are few places in the world where you’ll find such a remarkable diversity of culture, history, and nature.
Whether you choose a tour through the mountainous north, the lush south, or a journey combining the best of both, you’re guaranteed unforgettable experiences that will stay with you for life.
“I love Vietnam for its contrasts. For the quiet magic of the northern rice terraces, where time seems to stand still. For the buzzing energy of Ho Chi Minh City, where past and future meet in a single streetscape. And for the endless beaches, where everyday life feels worlds away. But most of all, I love Vietnam for its people – for the smiles that greet me everywhere I go, for their pride in their culture, history, and cuisine, and for the warmth and hospitality that make me feel welcome – not as a tourist, but as a guest.”

Our experienced travel experts have designed our tours to Vietnam to give you the opportunity to experience some of the country’s most remarkable highlights.
All our tours in Vietnam are package holidays that include flights, carefully selected accommodations, transport, and all scheduled excursions. The tours combine guided experiences with a local guide and free time for your own discoveries. On the days at your leisure, you can add even more memorable experiences with our optional tours.
Throughout your tour, our team and local partners are on hand to assist you via our emergency hotline staffed 24/7, ensuring you always feel safe and supported when travelling with us.
Below, you can explore some of the highlights waiting for you on our tours in Vietnam – described from north to south. For each individual tour, you can see exactly what’s included.
Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi, is one of Asia’s most atmospheric cities. Here, beautiful colonial buildings and historic temples stand side by side along streets bustling with traffic and life, perfectly capturing Vietnam’s unique charm.
Look forward to exploring this lively city from the seat of a traditional cycle rickshaw as you weave your way through the old trading quarter, filled with shops and street food stalls. The Long Bien Bridge, dating back to the French colonial era, offers a fascinating glimpse into everyday Vietnamese life as the busy traffic flows across it.
Hanoi is also home to a range of renowned attractions including the Temple of Literature, Ngoc Son Temple, the Ho Chi Minh Complex, and the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, which is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.
Vietnam is loved for its stunning, tranquil bays dotted with limestone cliffs, emerald-green waters, and small floating fishing villages. On our tours, you’ll have the chance to explore several of these naturally beautiful places.
Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most distinctive natural wonders, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and undoubtedly among the country’s top attractions.
In this bay, which stretches across approximately 1,500 km², lush green limestone cliffs rise dramatically from the stunning sea, its colour shifting beautifully from deep blue to jade green.
For the Vietnamese, the area is steeped in dragon legends. According to the tales, dragons dropped jewels and jade from their mouths, which fell into the bay and formed the limestone islands we see today.
For many, an overnight stay aboard a boat on Ha Long Bay is one of the absolute highlights of the tour. Here, you can soak up the tranquillity, watch the sun set behind the cliffs, and wake to the morning light shimmering across the glassy water.
Extending from Ha Long Bay lies Bai Tu Long Bay, which remains relatively untouched and less well known. The scenery here is every bit as impressive as in Ha Long Bay, with dramatic limestone formations and clear waters that can be enjoyed in a peaceful and unspoilt setting.
Here, you’ll sail between small, green-clad islands and local fishing communities, with the opportunity to explore the bay even further on a kayaking trip to the beautiful island of Cap La.
Lan Ha Bay lies south of Ha Long Bay and offers the same spectacular scenery, but in a much calmer and less-visited setting. Here, you’ll find hundreds of small limestone islets, hidden lagoons, and white sandy beaches.
In many places, you can go kayaking through small caves and into enclosed bays, getting even closer to Vietnam’s unspoilt nature. Lan Ha Bay offers a more intimate encounter with Vietnam’s natural beauty and is the perfect choice for those looking to combine adventure with a more peaceful atmosphere.
Hué, which once served as Vietnam’s imperial capital, is one of the country’s most atmospheric cultural cities. Beautifully situated on the banks of the Perfume River, the city exudes history, tradition, and architectural treasures.
Here, you can explore one of the city’s most impressive attractions, the ancient Imperial City, which is listed on the UNESCO world heritage list.
In Hué, you’ll also have the opportunity to take a boat trip along the Perfume River, enjoying views of the Thien Mu Pagoda, and sample local specialities at one of the city’s many delicious street food stalls.
On the coast in central Vietnam lies the beautiful and charming town of Hoi An.
From the 17th to the 19th century, the town was one of the most important trading ports in this part of Southeast Asia. Today, Hoi An is also among the most well-preserved historic towns in Asia, partly because it was spared from bombing during the Vietnam War.
The most fascinating part of the town is the ancient quarter, which is listed on the UNESCO world heritage list. The architecture here reflects Japanese, Chinese, and Indian influences. Highlights include the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Chua Ong Pagoda, and the 200-year-old Tam Ky House, originally built by a Vietnamese family and now featuring both Japanese and Chinese elements.
Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam’s largest city and is still often referred to by its former name, Saigon.
The city is a fascinating blend of modern skyscrapers and colonial-era buildings, and on a city tour you will experience:
From Ho Chi Minh City, there’s also access to a range of exciting experiences in the surrounding area.
On a half-day tour from Ho Chi Minh City, you can visit the Cu Chi Tunnels – a labyrinth of underground passages that linked command centres, schools, living quarters, and training facilities, and served as a hideout for the North Vietnamese Viet Cong forces when carrying out surprise attacks against the Americans.
There are plenty of opportunities to round off your tour of Vietnam with a few days of beach holiday. Several of our tours include beach stays, and for those that don’t, you have the option to extend your tour with a beach holiday on either Phu Quoc or Mui Ne.
Phu Quoc lies off the west coast and is Vietnam’s largest island.
The island is home to lush forests, palm-fringed beaches, and crystal-clear waters. Around the southern An Thoi Islands, you’ll find excellent opportunities to explore the beautiful coral reefs on a diving or snorkelling trip.
If you dream of lazing on the beach, dipping into the warm water, strolling along the shoreline, and watching spectacular sunsets, you’ve come to just the right place.
Mui Ne, which was originally a small fishing village, is a charming destination for enjoying a beach holiday in Vietnam.
The wide, golden sandy beaches invite you to spend relaxing days by the gentle sea, while the many small local restaurants along the coast serve delicious Vietnamese dishes.
If you’d like to combine your beach holiday with more experiences, you can visit the historic Po Shanu Cham Towers for magnificent views over the landscape, or marvel at the impressive sand dunes that give the Mui Ne area an almost desert-like feel.
Vietnam is packed with fascinating attractions, both in the north and south.
For example:
Experience Vietnam on a combined tour with one or more other Asian countries – for example, a combination with one or more of the following: Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand.
Cambodia offers legendary ruins and a warm-hearted, welcoming people.
In Phnom Penh, you’ll find Cambodia’s largest city and its capital. Here, you can gain an insight into the country’s dramatic history at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the “Killing Fields” of Choeung Ek, where around 17,000 people were executed and buried in mass graves.
Siem Reap in north-western Cambodia is the gateway to some of the country’s most iconic attractions. North of Siem Reap, for example, you can explore the Angkor complex – one of Southeast Asia’s most significant archaeological sites and listed on the UNESCO world heritage list. Angkor is an absolute must-see on a tour of Cambodia.
In Laos, you’ll experience the charm of traditional and authentic Asia. The country offers a relaxed atmosphere steeped in Buddhist culture and traditions.
In the northern part of Laos, you’ll visit the former royal city of Luang Prabang. The city is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and offers a unique blend of traditional architecture and charming French colonial influences.
Rise early to witness hundreds of monks walking through the streets collecting alms, visit Wat Xieng Thing – a traditional temple adorned with gold leaf – or climb to the top of Mount Phousi for a phenomenal view over Luang Prabang.
Thailand is one of Asia’s most popular travel destinations. On our combination tours, you can explore the charming city of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, renowned for its rich culture, fascinating history, and breathtaking landscapes – a city that offers a wealth of truly unique experiences.
For example, you can look forward to a cycling tour around the city, where you’ll discover some of Chiang Mai’s beautiful temples and monuments on two wheels. You can also visit the Doi Suthep Temple, beautifully situated on Mount Doi Suthep. We also highly recommend a visit to the ChangChill elephant sanctuary, located just outside Chiang Mai. Here, you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to experience elephants in an ethical and responsible way.
