In July 2024 Claus, our CEO, visited Brazil for the first time together with his family. They went on one of our tours to Brazil; our “Nature and Wildlife of Brazil”. Below, you can read about one of their highlights on the tour: visiting the Pantanal.

My family and I travelled on our “Nature & Wildlife of Brazil” and what a tour!

One of the absolute highlights was visiting the Pantanal and spending three nights at a local farm. The owners, who live on the property, are exceptionally friendly and attentive. The farm has a lovely atmosphere, offering cosy rooms, delicious food, and remarkable wildlife right on our doorstep. There is also a small but very nice pool area, perfect for relaxing during breaks from the extraordinary wildlife and nature experiences.

At the farm, we were surrounded by incredible birdlife, with the large toucans and the beautiful yellow, blue, and turquoise macaws constantly flying overhead. It was quite an experience.

With the farm as our base, we ventured out on horseback to explore the Pantanal plains and learned about cattle farming in Brazil.  We went on wildlife safaris and encountered incredible animals such as the giant anteater, caimans (small crocodiles), carnivores, armadillos, hundreds of bird species, and much more.  We also took a river safari, observing the wildlife from the water, and tried our hand at fishing for piranhas. Finally, we went on a sunset tour, and the sunset over the Pantanal is truly breathtaking—you have to see it to believe it

A barbeque with local meat prepared by the owners themselves is also included in the stay, and we loved it.

Pantanal is the largest tropical wetlands in the world with an amazing wildlife and birdlife. Pantanal offers a visit into the fantastic nature of Brazil and is for everyone. Transportation is provided by foot, horseback, car, or boat, all at a relaxed pace. The Pantanal serves as an excellent alternative to the Amazon rainforest for those who prefer not to stay in the jungle Pantanal comes highly recommended and is definitely worth a visit.
