In 2025, our travel specialist Sandra embarked on a safari holiday in Tanzania. The wildlife and landscapes in Africa are always awe-inspiring, but on this particular tour, it was truly the guides who made the experience exceptional.
Sit back and enjoy the ride. That’s exactly how it felt when our guide Issa greeted us at Springlands Hotel in Moshi before our safari holiday in Tanzania.
We knew we had a long drive ahead of us to reach our first safari stop, but the hours simply flew by. With the charming villages, bustling marketplaces, local residents, and lively traffic, there was always something to catch the eye – and on top of that, our guide answered every one of our curious questions and shared fascinating stories along the way.
While the real highlight of our safari was, of course, the incredible wildlife, our guide truly went above and beyond to make the experience even more special. One morning, he suggested we rise extra early to witness the sunrise over the Serengeti – and WOW, truly nothing compares to it.
On a different day, he spotted a leopard relaxing in a tree over 100 metres away – something we would never have noticed ourselves. Having an expert guide makes all the difference to your tour, not just during the safari but throughout the journey.
One day, we stopped at a market to try red bananas as a snack along the way. Another day, Issa had brought along some avocado for us to taste, and I can still recall the flavour even now 😊. We never would have had that experience if it weren’t for Issa.
